Education

In 2008, Newsweek ranked the Top 1,300 public high schools in the nation. Out of those top 1300, Walton in Marietta was ranked 109th, Lakeside in Atlanta was ranked 195th, and Druid Hills High School was ranked 600th. According to US News and World Report, which ranked the Best High Schools in 2009, Southside High School was the ONLY one ranked in the City of Atlanta. I WILL FIGHT to make our schools more competitive at the national level.

SOLUTION

I WILL WORK with the Atlanta Public Schools (APS) and other local educational institutions to develop mentoring programs for teachers and students with local colleges and universities and establish regional high school research programs with local universities. To increase the competitiveness, we must recruit the best teachers to our schools and provide the best resources for students.
